Art Makers Outpost Announces Outpost After Dark 2024-25 Salon Concert Series

Art Makers Outpost, a South Evanston arts studio dedicated to sustainability, creativity, and inclusivity, has announced the lineup for the Outpost After Dark 2024-25 Salon Concert Series. The nine-concert series features top local musicians, highlights a variety of genres, and reinforces the school’s commitment to community partnerships.

Loan: Art Creators Facility

Currently in its third season, the series is curated by artist-in-residence Anna Soltys, musician-in-residence Chris Greene, and founder Val Kahan. The trio brings a wealth of musical knowledge and a desire to celebrate emerging artists as well as established musicians.

The concerts are held at the Art Makers Outpost in Evanston, and seating is limited to 50 guests. Each show features an opening act and headliner, with time in between for socializing. Kahan says the format creates a unique concert experience that shouldn’t be missed. “The intimate performances give guests the opportunity to interact with the artists before and after the show and provide unique moments of connection between the artist and attendees,” she said.

This year’s lineup features the return of last year’s favorites, such as jazz guitarist Steve Knight and soulful songwriter Ami Saraiya. New additions include Ana Everling, a creative vocalist from the Republic of Moldova, and Palestinian-American multi-instrumentalist Ronnie Malley. Performers cover a variety of musical styles, from the flamenco rhythms of Vivian Garia to the distinctive sounds of the Chicago Klezmer Ensemble.

It’s like getting two shows for free! “A season pass is a great way for music fans to enjoy a great night of music every month,” says Kahan.

The series is generously sponsored by several Evanston businesses, including Sketchbook Brewing Co, La Principal, Evanston Family Chiropractic and Our Evanston. “The support from our local community has been overwhelming and we are so grateful for their generosity,” Kahan says.
