Destiny 2 Revenant Act 1: Release Date and Everything We Know

Destiny 2 Revenant Act 1 is fast approaching, with the next episode of the looter shooter promising a wide range of exciting new content and big changes.

With Echoes Act 3 coming to an end soon, the next chapter of Destiny 2 will take its place. It’s no secret that the game’s player count has been declining recently, so there’s a lot of pressure on Bungie to deliver this time around.

Thankfully, there’s plenty to be excited about as The Revenant reworks the way seasons work. The upcoming episode will introduce some significant changes to the structure of seasons, which will hopefully give Guardians a reason to log in again.

As expected, there’s a ton of new content coming as well. Here’s everything we know about Episode Revenant, including its release date, what’s coming in Act 1, and all the new weapons and armor that’s already been confirmed.

Exotic mission

A new Exotic mission is coming to Episode Revenant, adding another unique and powerful weapon to Destiny’s arsenal. This will be the first mission added since Encore introduced Choir of One in Echoes Act 3, the incredibly powerful Void Auto Rifle.

However, details on what this mission will be or what exotic weapons will be added are currently unknown. Bungie will reveal more information in the future, and we’ll update this when we know more.

Dungeon Revenant

The new dungeon will be added in Revenant Act 1, shortly after the episode’s release date. This will be the first dungeon added since Warlord’s Ruin and since The Final Shape released in June 2024.

While information about the new dungeon is scarce, Bungie promised in a TWID posted on September 19 that it would share more details soon, including its name, some of the rewards available, and the overall theme of the dungeon. We’ll keep you updated.

New weapons and armor

Revenant Act 1 will add three seasonal armor sets, one for each class, and a few weapons for players to farm. You can get them as drops from seasonal activities or focus them at the new vendor in HELM

The new weapons and armor will be based on the Fallen and will focus on delivering a “dark fantasy theme,” as described in “The Journey Ahead” stream held in June 2024. Here’s the official artwork for some of the confirmed weapons and armor you’ll be able to earn in Revenant:

Potion Crafting Mechanics

For the first time in Destiny 2, Revenant Act 1 will allow players can create their own potions using the new potion crafting mechanic. These potions will enhance different aspects of your gameplay, making them essential for getting the most out of your time.

For now, Bungie has revealed two types of potions you’ll be able to craft: Combat Potions AND Loot PotionsHere are the gameplay results for both of them:

  • Combat Potions will enhance the Revenant Artifact, amplifying the effects of specific perks and making them even more effective.
  • Loot Potions give you control over the rewards you receive for your activities, making it easier to earn specific loot.

Revenant Episode: Artifact Perks

Bungie hasn’t revealed any details about the Revenant artifact yet, but we do know that will contain 25 perks in Act 1. This will include five perks for each column, and you’ll be able to unlock more as you level up your Season Pass.

Later acts will see another 10 perks added to the Artifact, with Act 2 and Act 3 each introducing five perks. Details are unknown, but Echoes’ Artifact has gained new weapon perks and even some older perks returning from previous Artifacts, so you can expect something similar in Revenant.

No more time-limited content

Episode Revenant changes the seasonal content model in Destiny 2, eliminating time-limited content entirelyand allowing Guardians to play everything the new Act has to offer on day one.

This means that when Revenant Act 1 launches, you’ll be able to complete its entire seasonal story at once, rather than having to come back every week. Explaining the reasoning behind the change, Bungie stated, “Our goal is to give players the ability to play at their own pace. We’ll be monitoring feedback as these changes are made.”

Increased power level limits

This In Act 1 Revenant’s power limit increases by 10so you’ll need to farm more Pinnacle drops to make sure your gear doesn’t limit you. As before, they’ll be available as weekly rewards in Featured and Ritual activities.

Here are the new power caps for Episode Revenant:

  • Base power: 1900
  • Soft cap: 1950
  • Mighty hat: 2000
  • Pinnalce Cap: 2010

Titan Class Rework

Revenant Act 1 will introduce the first part of a rework for the Titan class, which aims to change the class’s core identity from a purely strike-oriented class to one that is more useful in the end game.

The most noticeable change is that Barricade will now provoke enemiesallowing Titans to draw aggro like a tank in an MMORPG. This taunt will force nearby warriors to shoot at your barrier rather than your fireteam, giving the Destiny version of the Spartan more utility than ever.

This change is in addition to a huge variety of buffs that make most Titan abilities, fragments, and aspects more useful. You can check out all the changes in the early patch notes, which also detail a number of changes to core Hunters and Warlocks.
