LeBron James Talks His First Lakers Workout With Bronny James

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and his son Bronny James returned to the lab to train for the upcoming season. LeBron is in great shape for the 2024-25 season, according to his recently released workout videoThe 40-year-old veteran recently gave his son Bronny some advice on social media earlier this month before sharing his first training experience with his son Bronny in a recent appearance on the GoJo and Golic podcast.

LeBron admits that during exercises with his son he lost concentration when he saw practiced for the first time as a member of the Lakers team.

“We got back in the gym this week and it was really the first time Bronny and I were on the court as professionals, training, competing, getting ready for the season,” James said. “I had a few moments where I kind of lost focus, and I’m not used to losing focus when I’m on the court. There were a few times I looked over and just watched him, watched him get ready, watched him chase it. It’s going to be an incredible year for me and hopefully for him as well.”

LeBron also jokes that Bronny has yet to call him by his first name on the court. Whether it’s Dad or LeBron, he can’t wait for that first moment on the court.

“You know what, he hasn’t said anything yet. He hasn’t given me his name on the practice court yet, and I’ve actually had my ears wide open, waiting for this moment,” James said. “I know it’s coming, and I don’t know if I’ll be surprised or impressed by what he calls me.”

Lakers star LeBron James is entering his 22nd NBA season with plenty to be excited about, including playing alongside his son Bronny James as the pair become the league’s first father/son duo. That’s why LeBron says he’ll appreciate this upcoming campaign more than any other.

“I think this particular part will give me a sense of enjoying the moment a little bit more,” James added. “When you’re so caught up, when you’re in training mode and you’re in determined mode and you’re so caught up in the preparation and the process, sometimes you can lose sight of some of the things that happened during the season that you should be celebrating, that you should be appreciating a little bit more. So I think with Bronny here now, I think I can have a moment or two where I can just relax and appreciate the moment because it doesn’t last forever.”

We’ll find out soon enough whether Bronny will spend most of the regular season in the G League or if LeBron will have a say in the Lakers’ upcoming decision.
