3 key matches to watch in Week 3

The Buffalo Bills will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in their upcoming Week 3 game.

Even though this is an important meeting within the AFC Conference, the result will be decided by specific matches.

Here are the three biggest matchups to watch for during Monday’s Bills-Jaguars game:

OL Dion Dawkins vs. Josh-Hines Allen

Even though Hines-Allen has just one sack in 2024, he’s still been a solid presence in a solid Jacksonville defense. Pro Football Focus rates him as the NFL’s sixth-best defensive back after two weeks. Considering he’s been watching the unseen side of Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Dawkins has to play well.

WR Keon Coleman vs. S Andre Cisco

Every week it seems like a new player steps into the passing game for the Bills, which complements James Cook’s efforts very well. This could be a good time to show why Coleman is a deep threat.

PFF isn’t the be-all and end-all, but let’s be honest: It’s never good when a football analytics site ranks you as the worst player at your position in the entire NFL. That’s Cisco right now. Put Coleman on his side of the field and send him deep.

LB Baylon Spector vs. RB Travis Etienne Jr.

Spector has the confidence of his team, and he’ll play for the first time since the 2023 postseason against the Kansas City Chiefs, as Terrel Bernard (pectoral muscle) is expected to miss several weeks.

Still, Etienne is a good quarterback. There’s a reason Buffalo wanted him years ago. Spector won’t be tasked solely with stopping him, but when he gets his shots at running back, Spector has to stop him.
