Original Wars of freedom was released in 2014 and was one of the last major titles for the iconic PS Vita console to receive support from Sony.

Set in a dystopian future, the game revolves around “Sinners,” individuals born in sprawling prison cities called Panopticons who fight to shorten their million-year sentences by undertaking dangerous missions, rescuing citizens, and battling powerful enemies.

The game draws inspiration from titles such as: Monster Hunter AND Devourer of Godsbut adds its own twist in the form of a whip that allows players to climb on large enemies.

Unfortunately, the game’s plot remained unfinished and although the creators planned to write a sequel, they did not have the opportunity to realize it.

However, with a remaster already in the works, Dimps and Namco appear to be testing the possibility of a sequel.

Nevertheless, as one of the last mainline titles on PS Vita, it holds a special place in the console’s history.

Developer Dimps initially approached Sony for a remaster, as the company still held the rights to the franchise. However, Bandai Namco stepped in as publisher after Dimps acquired the license.

Thanks to the support of Bandai Namco, Freedom Wars – Remaster will likely receive a healthy dose of PR, which in turn will hopefully attract even more players.

Given the popularity of the original game, this feels like a win for everyone involved – and that’s now in light of the disastrous reception to the PS5 Pro announcement and the absolute disaster that came with it AgreementSony needs this more than anyone else.

For this purpose we hope that the green light will be given Freedom Wars – Remaster marks the beginning of a new wave of other popular PS Vita games like Soul Sacrifice and Toukiden Both series have legions of dedicated fans and will receive similar updates for next-gen consoles.
