Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s research for his upcoming film The Delhi Files is in full swing. The filmmaker is leaving no stone unturned, delving into every aspect of the subject to bring the reality to the audience, just like he always does with his films. The filmmaker recently visited the India-Bangladesh border as part of his research. He shared a few behind-the-scenes pictures from his visit and revealed the insights he gathered while interviewing people on the Indian side of the border.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took to social media to share BTS photos from his visit to the India-Bangladesh border and wrote:

“January 2024: India-Bangladesh border:

Six months ago, we were interviewing people on the Indian side of the India-Bangladesh border as part of research for my next film, #TheDelhiFiles. I found that the villagers were more aware of Bangladeshi politics than the Indians. They knew there would be a revolt against Haseena. And they all supported it.
On this border it is almost impossible to tell who is Hindu and who is not. All the motifs of Hindu culture are slowly disappearing.
It appears that there are still “Two Indias” in India.
This is what “forced demographic change” is doing to the region: Two nations. Two constitutions.
West Bengal is very vulnerable and the current government is using the “demographic changes” to its advantage by creating vote banks out of them. That is one reason why she was so opposed to CAA and NRC.
Political violence became Bengal’s main source of income.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri undertook intensive research starting from the first day of the COVID lockdown. He travelled from Kerala to Kolkata and Delhi, covering huge distances, to gather accurate and comprehensive information for his film. He immersed himself in a wealth of literature, reading over 100 books and over 200 articles related to historical events that form the backbone of his film. He and his team also travelled across 20 states for research, going through over 7,000 research pages and 1,000 archive articles, which were also researched apart from books.

Talking about Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, after receiving nationwide appreciation and love, Vivek is all set to take the audience on a journey of another powerful film with his upcoming ‘The Delhi Files’. After The Kashmir Files, prolific producer Abhishek Agarwal has once again teamed up with Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri with his production banner Abhishek Agarwal Arts for ‘The Delhi Files’.
