Woman dies after giving birth, family members protest in Nirmal-Telangana today

Afroz Ahmed Khan and his family members claimed that his wife Farhana (35) died after giving birth due to the negligence of doctors belonging to the hospital

Nirmal:Family members of a woman who died after giving birth to a baby staged a sit-in outside a private hospital to hold doctors responsible for her death on Saturday.

Afroz Ahmed Khan and his family members claimed that his wife Farhana (35) died after giving birth due to negligence of doctors at the hospital.

He demanded strict action against the hospital doctors and compensation for the loss of his wife. They withdrew their protest when the police assured them that justice would be done by investigating the incident.

Farhana was admitted to the hospital on Friday after experiencing labour pains. She suffered heavy bleeding after undergoing a caesarean section at the hospital. She was shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad. But doctors declared her dead.

Following a complaint filed by Khan, a case was filed against gynaecologist Dr Chandana of Devi Bai Hospital. Investigations were conducted.
