Bengals coach Zac Taylor said his top quarterback is ready to play.

“I’m glad we’re going. I had a great week at work,” Taylor said.

On Friday, Higgins said he felt like himself again.

“Yeah, I’m back. I feel 100 percent,” Higgins said Friday. “Still looking forward to putting together a good camp.”

Higgins is ready to play and will make his debut in the 2024 season.

The 25-year-old has been struggling with a hamstring injury and was forced to miss the first two weeks of the season. While he will be available on Monday evening, it is unclear whether he will have any restrictions.

Taylor did not reveal whether he would be limited to opponents before their prime-time game. Regardless, Higgins will be a big boost to a Bengals offense looking for its first win of the season.

Entering Week 3, the Bengals are 0-2 and will look to capitalize on a Commanders team that has struggled to keep the offense in check. Through two games, the Commanders rank 29th in opponent yards per pass attempt, 22nd in opponent yards per pass attempt per game and 31st in sack percentage.

The Bengals will look to capitalize on the Commanders’ struggles and get one of their biggest weapons back. Higgins will be looking to make his mark, but he hopes this injury doesn’t hinder his play.

“I just overdid it once. Hamstrings, you really have to stretch them out,” Higgins said. “I just pulled them that day. I strained them. I didn’t think it was anything serious, but it turned out to be more than I thought, and I had to sit out two weeks.”

Higgins, who is in a contract year, had 42 receptions for 656 yards with five touchdowns in 12 games last season. He was also hampered by injuries last season with a broken rib in his chest and a hamstring he suffered late in the 2023 season.

This season he hopes to stay healthy and prove he is worth the money he says he deserves.
