THIS IS HOW IT SEEMS TO BE THE END OF THE GAME AT NEXT 2024 FESTIVAL

THIS IS HOW IT SEEMS TO BE THE END OF THE GAME AT NEXT 2024 FESTIVAL

Aurinko Theatre and Toronto Fringe present the world premiere of THIS FEELS LIKE THE END.

Faith, folklore and conspiracy collide in this gripping new play from Next Stage Theatre Festival 2024.

One morning, all over the world, the sun doesn’t rise. Or the next morning. Or the morning after that. Five people, between Toronto and the far north of Finland, search for answers in a world that keeps turning… even after what seems like the end.

Part multicultural thriller, part magical realism, This Feels Like The End puts a folklore-inspired spin on speculative fiction.

Originally developed as part of the Block A program at the Vancouver Playwrights Theatre Centre and completed with the support of an Ontario Arts Council Grant upon recommendation from the Toronto Fringe, This Feels Like The End was a sold-out staged reading at the 2023 UpintheAir Theatre rEvolver Festival in Vancouver. Now, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Theatre Aurinko presents the show as its first full production.

The program features Cameron Laurie (Dora Award winner and two-time nominee for his work with The Howland Company, of which he is the founder and Artistic Director), Jasmine Case (Dora Award winner for Outstanding Individual Achievement in YPT’s Truth), Landon Nesbitt (Dora Award nominee for Outstanding Ensemble Achievement in Canadian Stage’s The Inheritance), Tara Koehler (soon to appear in HBO Max’s Welcome to Derry), and Finnish-Canadian playwright and artist Bonnie Duff.

This Feels Like The End premieres as part of the 2024 Next Stage Theatre Festival, presented by Toronto Fringe at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander St., Toronto
