Bloom Sunflower Festival Begins Sunday at Spallumcheen – Vernon News

The much-anticipated Bloom Sunflower Festival returns and will take place from September 22nd to October 6th.

This year, Bloom Flower Festivals will be held at a new location at 4289 Salmon River Rd. in Spallumcheen.

The festival takes place less than 25 minutes from Vernon and just over an hour from Kelowna and is billed as a “breathtaking experience full of vibrant sunflowers and exciting new events.”

A four-acre sunflower field filled with flowers promises to be the perfect backdrop for gorgeous photos and autumn memories.

This year’s festival brings a breath of fresh air with new events, special local partnerships and unique experiences.

Festival participants can walk through golden sunflower fields, pick their own flowers and take vivid photos surrounded by the beauty of nature. And for budding photographers, there are no additional fees for taking photos on site, apart from entry.

Take flowers home with a variety of U-Pick options, ranging from $3 per stem to $50 per bucket. This allows visitors to fit as many stems as they can into their bucket.

“We are so excited to be back after a year of challenging weather and can’t wait to share our flowers with the community,” said Alexis Szarek, founder of Bloom Flower Festivals. “This year’s festival is all about creating magical moments and celebrating the beauty of sunflowers with our friends, family and guests.”

Festival attendees have the opportunity to take home their own sunflower stalks while supporting a local food bank, thanks to the Food for Flowers initiative presented by SNFLWR Investment Corporation. Guests can bring up to five non-perishable food items and receive one sunflower stalk for each donation, and SNFLWR will match the food bank’s donations throughout the festival.
