David Beckham enjoys pizza night in New York after posing with Anne Hathaway and son Romeo at Inter Miami match

David Beckham enjoyed a pizza in New York following Lionel Messi’s debut at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

The soccer legend and Inter Miami boss were in the Big Apple for the highly anticipated Herons clash with New York City FC. During the match, Beckham posed with actress Anne Hathaway, who wore a pink Miami shirt, and his son Romeo.

After spending the afternoon in the Bronx, Beckham headed to Brooklyn, where he grabbed a pizza at Lucali in Carroll Gardens.

“The best cakes, the best music, the best people, SIMPLY THE BEST,” Beckham wrote on Instagram, tagging the restaurant.

On another slide, Beckham called Lucali his “favourite place in the world.”

In addition to Hathaway and Romeo, Beckham posted photos on Instagram with sports agent David Gardner and director Fisher Stevens.

“A good few days in New York with friends and family,” he wrote.

A crowd of 44,738 turned out to see Messi play as Inter Miami and NYCFC drew 1-1. The match provided some drama towards the end when Leo Campana opened the scoring for Beckham’s side in the 75th minute.

However, New York’s James Sands spoiled the situation by scoring in the 95th minute to share the points with the Herons.

With the draw, Inter Miami now has a record of 19-7-4 (WDL) and still leads the Eastern Conference with 64 points.

New York, on the other hand, extended its winless streak to nine games, finishing sixth with an 11-8-11 record and 41 points.

NYCFC will be hoping to pick up all three points when they take on New York Red Bulls across the Hudson River on September 28.

On the other hand, Messi and Miami will end their season with a home match against Charlotte.
