Liam Gallagher responds after fans slam Wembley performance

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has responded to fans who savaged the singer after his Wembley stadium performance on Saturday night.

In his first gig since announcing the highly anticipated Oasis reunion, Liam took the stage at Wembley Stadium, performing in front of 96,000 fans ahead of the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight.

The much-anticipated fight was for the prestigious IBF heavyweight title.

Liam Gallagher has clapped back at unimpressed fans who savaged the singer after his performance at the Heavyweight boxing championships last night (September 21).

Liam performed a trio of Oasis’s biggest hits from their debut album Definitely Maybe, including Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Supersonic, and Cigarettes and Alcohol.

However, the 52-year-old failed to impress some in the sold out crowd, with many of them taking to social media to demand refunds for their tickets to next year’s reunion tour

Taking to X/formerly Twitter, one disgusted fan wrote: ‘How many people are looking for refunds after listening to this utter garbage? Liam Gallagher is done. Sounds like some dodgy impersonator.’

Another penned: ‘If you bought Oasis tickets. Get a refund. Liam Gallagher just performed, and he sounds s***,’ while another commented: ‘Was that Liam Gallagher or a tribute act?’

Others also predicted that many people could sell or refund their Oasis tickets after the performance.

‘Hundreds of thousands of people looking for refunds on their Oasis tickets tomorrow morning after watching this Liam Gallagher performance #VoiceIsF***ed,’ said another.

At the same time, another person, who watched the fight from home, wrote on social media: ‘I am a big fan of Oasis, but Liam Gallagher sounds awful tonight!!!! Rehearsals needed!!!! Almost glad I didn’t get tickets now!’

Taking to X/formerly Twitter on Sunday morning, the Oasis star clapped back with some unsavory replies to the harsh comments from users claiming that he ‘loved the haters’ and hoped he ‘wrecked their faces’.

The singer also believed that some people couldn’t handle his ‘punk rock vibes’, penning: ‘Exactly what do they think this is… af**king pop concert!.. Can’t handle the punk rock vibes.’

The 52-year-old also responded to several X users, telling them he ‘loved’ being part of last night’s event and branded it ‘biblical’.

The relatively short set comes as the Manchester native prepares for a massive payday, with a lucrative multi-million-pound deal in place for an Oasis reunion tour.

Liam and his brother Noel are set to reunite for the highly anticipated tour next year, marking their first time performing together in over a decade.

The brothers haven’t shared a stage since 2009, following a now-infamous backstage fight that led to Noel’s decision to leave the band for good.
