Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell’s wife says he is seeking help after ‘physical outburst’ at concert

Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell’s wife Etty Lau has given an update on her husband following his onstage fight with bandmate Dave Navarro and the subsequent cancellation of their tour.

On Instagram, Lau shared a post on Saturday, beginning by thanking fans for their support.

“We are so grateful and humbled by all the loved ones who have taken the time to send us such beautiful words of love and support, checking in over and over again to make sure we are well taken care of. Offering love and compassion, words of kindness, and even your homes where we can escape to…” Lau wrote.

She went on to call Farrell “the sweetest of souls” and apologize for her onstage altercation earlier this month with Navarro, saying, “We are just as astonished as you are by Perry’s physical outburst – but you must know that Perry had to be pushed to his absolute limits… to that end, we apologize.”

Lau said Farrell had appointments with an ear, nose and throat specialist and a neurologist, who specializes in the brain and nervous system.

“With all of your love, kindness, compassion and support, you know that Perry will persevere. He will recover. He will be happy again. He will be able to share his music, his vision and his art again – without holding back,” she said, adding that when he is “ready, he will take another giant leap over the odds to make us laugh, to make us think, and to change the world together.”

Farrell was caught on camera at a concert in Boston earlier this month throwing a punch at the band’s guitarist, Navarro.

Security officers quickly broke up the fight and told Farrell to stop, while holding him down to prevent any further attacks on the guitarist. Navarro grabbed Farrell’s arm, and he was furious, as he attempted to attack the guitarist again.

“To all fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take a break as a group,” the statement read. “As a result, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour.”

“With all your love, kindness, compassion and support, you know that Perry will persevere. He will recover. He will be happy again.”

Navarro also released a statement on his Instagram regarding the cancellation.

“Due to persistent behavior and mental health issues of our lead singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to terminate the current US tour,” he wrote.

“Our concern for his health and personal safety as well as our own leaves us with no alternative. We hope he finds the help he needs,” he continued.

A source told Fox News Digital: “Perry is heartbroken by his actions. He realizes he waited too long to prioritize his well-being. His exhaustion and the toll it has taken on his physical and mental health has gone too far.”

They added: “He had the best intentions in going on tour with the band and feels he has let his fans and family down.”

Navarro shared new songs from the band on Friday, along with another apology directed primarily at the tour crew.

“A new Jane’s Addiction song is out today, True Love. I’m proud of the work we did on this song but I’m also saddened by the fact that you’ll probably never hear it live,” he shared on Instagram.

“I would also like to publicly apologize to our team, Crawlers and their team and Love and Rockets and their team,” Navarro wrote, referring to the bands that were scheduled to open for Jane’s Addiction.

“I am saddened that things ended this way and that so many jobs were lost because of it. May our hearts all be reconciled together,” Navarro added.
