Jr NTR Reacts To Devara’s Pre-Release Event In Hyderabad Cancelled: ‘It’s Wrong To Blame…’

Jr NTR shared a video message after Devar’s pre-release event was cancelled.

Telugu star Jr NTR shared a video message on September 22 after the pre-release event of Devar in Hyderabad was cancelled.

Telugu superstar Jr NTR shared a video message on September 22 after the sudden cancellation of Devar’s pre-release event at Novotel in Hyderabad. In his message, he said that he felt more pain than his fans and defended the organisers and producers, explaining that the cancellation was unexpected. The event was cancelled due to overcrowding and security issues. Many fans at the hotel were turned away after the team took the difficult decision just hours before it was to begin.

In his video message to fans, Jr NTR said that he was upset that the Devara event was cancelled. He said, as loosely translated from Telugu, “I am deeply saddened that the Devara event has been cancelled, especially because I was looking forward to it so much. I enjoyed spending time with you and sharing many interesting details about Devara. I was excited to share many details about Devara and explain the efforts put into the film. However, the event could not take place due to security reasons. I share your disappointment. My pain is greater than yours. In my opinion, it is wrong to blame the producers or the organizers for the cancellation of the event.”

In a statement on X, Devara’s team expressed their disappointment. The team was excited about the pre-release event of their film, especially since it was NTR’s first solo release in six years. However, they faced a few challenges. The event was scheduled close to Ganesh Nimarjanam, which required at least a week of preparations, and the recent heavy rains made things difficult.

An excerpt from the official statement read: “Although it didn’t rain today, the conditions would not have been suitable for an outdoor event even if we had planned it… The huge turnout of fans, despite our best efforts, became unmanageable as the barricades were torn down due to the overwhelming crowd. For everyone’s safety, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event. We understand that many of you traveled from different parts of the country to celebrate and see your hero. We hope that everyone is safe and has returned home safely. We apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely regret the situation.”

Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, will premiere on September 27.
