Governor names Murray as associate district judge for 24th Judicial District – Daily Journal Online

Governor Mike Parson announced the judicial appointments for the 16th, 19th and 24th Judicial Districts on September 13.

Joseph A. Murray III of Farmington will be appointed district judge of St. Francois County, 24th Judicial District.

Murray is the owner of Murray Law LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Bachelor of Science in finance and banking from the University of Missouri–Columbia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. He will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable Brice R. Sechrest as district judge.

Of the appointment, Murray said, “I appreciate the confidence the Governor has placed in me. As a lifelong resident of St. Francois County, I am pleased to have the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.”

The Honorable Lauren D. Barrett of Kansas City has been appointed District Judge of the 16th Judicial District.

Barrett serves as a district judge in the 16th Judicial District. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a juris doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia. He will fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable John M. Torrence.

Joseph L. Shetler of Jefferson City was appointed district judge of the 19th Judicial District.

Shetler is the owner of Shetler Law, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts from Conception Seminary College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia. He will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of the Honorable Christopher K. Limbaugh as a district judge.
