Damon Dash Explains Reposted Photos of Him at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Party with Jay-Z and Jennifer Lopez

On Sunday, September 22, the label’s CEO took to Instagram to address the re-posted photos of him with Jay-Z AND Jennifer Lopez at a party organized by a disgraced rapper.

“I didn’t go to those parties,” the 53-year-old said.

“I went to one in the Hamptons about 20 years ago with Aaliyah and that was it. But there were a lot of people there, you know what I mean?”

Dash dated Aaliyah from 2000 until her death in 2001.

“Nothing like this happens in the Hamptons. That was the day I met (Aaliyah),” he said later in the video. “We were hanging out there and then we went out and this happened. That was 20 years ago, not L.A. or Miami. I know they’re going to play with those pictures. It’s all good, I don’t care.”

Since Diddy’s arrest earlier this month, photos of the star in hot water with other celebrities have emerged online, prompting social media users to try to work out who may have been present at his infamous events – with some being referred to as “freaks”.

Dash called the situation Diddy finds himself in “shocking.”

“People will sit and watch others do things that may be immoral, but until they get caught, no one says anything,” he said. “Whether it’s illegal or immoral, I just run, I don’t wait for people to get caught. I don’t wait for someone else to say they’re doing something wrong.”

“If something goes against my morals, I move on,” he said.

Diddy was reportedly arrested on September 16 in New York and is currently facing federal charges of human trafficking, extortion and kidnapping. TMZ website. He was charged with 3 counts – conspiracy to commit extortion, trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He entered a not guilty plea.

The 54-year-old was bail denied for the second time on Wednesday, Sept. 18, after a federal judge in Manhattan remanded him to a Brooklyn jail to await trial. Combs’ attorneys described conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as “appalling” and “inappropriate for pretrial detention.” The music mogul was initially denied bail during his arraignment in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday.

If convicted, Diddy faces a prison sentence of at least 15 years and a maximum of life in prison.
