Rob Lowe returns as Owen Strand in the final season of “9-1-1 Lone Star” Monday night on Fox.

The highly anticipated fifth season comes after a 16-month hiatus for the series. While this season will be the last after Fox decided it was too expensive to continue filming, the 126 are ready to confront the train wreck that has put their community and coworkers in danger.

When will 9-1-1: Lone Star be released?

The fifth season of “9-1-1: Lone Star” premieres on Monday, September 23 on Fox at 8:00 PM ET.

When will new episodes be released?

New episodes will be released weekly. The fifth and final season will consist of only 12 episodes (as opposed to 18 episodes, which has become customary in the 9-1-1 universe).

What is season 5 about?

Season 5 revolves around a train derailment that threatens the lives of many, including first responders. In addition to the catastrophic train crash, the 126 will also have to deal with a “poisonous cloud of death” that poses new threats to their community in Austin, Texas.

Who stars in Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Stars?

Rob Lowe plays fire captain Owen Strand, who moves to Austin with his son (Ronin Rubinstein) to build a new fire station after a devastating fire. Gina Torres, Rafael Silva, Brian Michael Smith, Natacha Karam and Jim Parrack help round out the cast.
