Singer Belinda Peregrin speaks out after Paris fashion show

Mexican pop star Belinda Peregrin “never imagined that one of the most iconic” moments of her career would be tripping on the runway during Paris Fashion Week.

The Spanish-born singer was one of many famous faces who showed up for the L’Oreal—Walk Your Worth spring-summer 2025 women’s collection at the Place de l’Opéra in Paris on Monday in front of a huge crowd.

Known as Belinda, she confidently walked down the runway in an all-red outfit before collapsing before she got halfway there.

Brazilian star Anitta rushed to her aid and helped Belinda to her feet before the singer finished her walk and even blew a kiss to the crowd at the top of the runway before turning to go backstage.

After the incident, she broke her silence on Instagram and shared a video of the moment on her homepage.

Newsweek reached out to Belinda’s representatives via email Tuesday morning for comment.

Belinda’s first Instagram post showed her falling, which was then cut to an iconic scene from the HBO series Sex and the City TV series in which Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) suffered a similar accident on a New York fashion runway.

“The most iconic moment of my life, even though it wasn’t what I imagined,” Belinda wrote under the post in Spanish, which was translated by Newsweek.

In the next video shared, Anitta can be seen helping her to her feet as the crowd cheers her on.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, it’s how you get back up that counts. Thank you, Anitta,” Belinda wrote.

Her fans responded to her in the comments.

“You’re like a queen,” Mexican singer Danna replied.

Spanish rapper La Mala Rodriguez wrote: “There is no one more beautiful.”

And another singer, Estibaliz Badiola, added simply: “Princess.”

The singer also shared on her Instagram posts from other people who congratulated her on her speedy recovery after the fall.

The show, which was a tribute to women’s emancipation, also featured other famous names, including Andie MacDowell, Eva Longoria, Alia Bhatt, Simone Ashley, Cara Delevingne, Bethenny Frankel, Jane Fonda, Kendall Jenner, Viola Davis, Aishwarya Rai, Camila Cabello and Heidi Klum.

Belinda began her career as a child actress on Mexican television. In 2003, she released her self-titled debut album, which sold over a million copies worldwide. She is considered one of the most popular singers in Latin music.
