New Friends Game Show Ordered to Max: Details

Friends fans will have the opportunity to test their knowledge in a new game show commissioned by Max.

On Monday, September 23, the streaming service announced that it would be releasing Fast Friendsa four-part game show that was meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beloved sitcom. The show, co-produced by Dan Sacks, Brigette Theriault and Dan Norris AND Richard Burgiois set to begin production in October at New York’s “Friends Experience: Activation of “The One”.

“From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to running around Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad to grabbing coffee at Central Perk, fans will be able to relive their favorite moments while testing themselves with trivia, puzzles and games that will keep even the most die-hard fans interested.” Friends “The fans are on standby,” Max said in a press release.

According to a press release, the fastest team participating in the competition will win the title of “Ultimate Friends Fan.”

The series celebrated its 30th anniversary with the pilot episode Sunday, September 22, but the milestone was bittersweet due to the death of Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the NBC sitcom. (Perry died at age 54 in October 2023 from the acute effects of ketamine.)

“It’s a huge loss and makes the 30th day a little tense. … (co-creator) David (Crane) always said he was the funniest man in the room,” co-creator Marta Kauffman made available in a segment aired on Friday, September 20, in the episode Today. Crane, 67, added: “He made us laugh every day.”

Cox, 60, who played Monica Geller in Friends, also reflected on the series ahead of its 30th anniversary.

“It’s just crazy to me because I feel like time is passing so fast and I don’t notice it,” she said. People on Saturday, September 21. “We were like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait for this month,’ or, ‘God, it seems like it’s taking forever.’ I’ll never say that again.”

Cox noted that it’s been “a while” since she watched the last episode of the sitcom, but the show is “amazing” and “every joke is valuable.”

“All the characters are just amazing, and we (had) the best writers in the world,” she gushed to the site. “I’m lucky that it’s been through all the generations. And that’s very lucky.”
