Flower displays decorate Beijing for National Day

BEIJING — Tiananmen Square and Chang’an Avenue in Beijing were decorated with flowers ahead of the upcoming National Day holiday.

An 18-meter-long festive flower basket was set up in Tian’anmen Square, while 10 flower beds in different styles were set up along Chang’an Avenue, Liu Mingxing of the Beijing Forestry and Parks Bureau said.

To mark the holiday starting October 1, other floral decorations have also been installed across the city, including more than 20,000 flower boxes.

The decoration of Tiananmen Square and Chang’an Avenue is the highlight of the annual National Day celebrations and a tradition that has been cultivated for 40 years.
