Lavish Aroma, LLC prepared a dinner of roast chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, seasoned rice, green beans, macaroni and cheese, salad, rolls, tea, and lemonade.

Entertainment was provided by comedian Shanna Hastie. Dance music for the evening was provided by Greenville band The Full Effect and DJ Ricky Scott. Master of ceremonies was Deon Gamble.

One of the highlights of the evening was the cake cutting ceremony. The cake cutting is a popular tradition at the Veterans Ball that symbolizes the passing on of wisdom and experience. During the ceremony, veteran Sergeant Major Whitfield presented the cake to active duty soldier Sergeant Tyeshia Jackson, signifying that the veteran honors those who have gone before him and the active duty soldier symbolizes the future. The cake was baked by Artsy Cakes & Bakery in Kingstree.

Jackson is the first female to hold the position of senior sergeant in the 1053rd Division.rd Transportation Company (Bennettsville, SC) Army National Guard 1050t Transport Battalion.

Awards were presented to the evening’s 2024 Gold, Silver and Bronze honorees, including: DSM-firmenich, Farmers Telephone Company, Senior Care Insurance Services, Kingstree-Lake City Alumnae of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Bank of Greeleyville, Embroidery Solutions, LLC and Sabb Law Group, LLC. Plaques of appreciation were also presented to the Iota Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. and Boggy Swamp Masonic Lodge #452 for providing meals to veterans during the 2023 Veterans Day Program and the 2024 Memorial Day Program.

Some event sponsors received tickets. They had the option to use their ticket or donate it to a veteran within their organization or company. Army veteran Nick McFadden was one such veteran. He accepted the award on behalf of Embroidery Solutions, LLC.

The mission of Williamsburg County Veterans Affairs is to be a positive influence in the county to honor veterans. The Williamsburg County Veterans Ball provided veterans from Williamsburg County and the surrounding areas with the opportunity to participate in the first official veterans event in the county. The efforts of the organization served and provided veterans from all branches of the armed forces with the opportunity to participate in an official night of festivities celebrating their service.
