Fortnite Flare Guns: Where to Find Them to Launch Fireworks

Fortnite Flare Guns: Where to Find Them to Launch Fireworks

The Fortnite Flare Guns are back, and this time they’re firing off fireworks to celebrate the battle royale’s 7th anniversary. They also have a more useful function than just lighting up the sky, as setting off the fireworks will reveal players nearby so you can tactically drop them. Finding these weapons is easier said than done, as they appear randomly, but if you want to check off all of the Fortnite Birthday Objectives, you’ll need to get your hands on them. For more details, here’s how to find Flare Guns in Fortnite and what you need to do with them to reveal players by setting off the fireworks.

To find Flare Guns in Fortnite, you’ll need a bit of luck on your side, as they appear randomly as loot on the floor or when searching chests, unless a defeated opponent accidentally drops one for you. This means that, much like Fortnite Birthday Medallions, the only real approach you can take is to keep searching as many chests as possible and hope for the best while keeping an eye out for the Firework Flare Gun that drops. I managed to find it on both routes, so try to be patient.

Once you’ve found the Fortnite Flare Gun, you can use it to reveal players by setting off fireworks – simply fire it in the direction of interest, and as the fireworks explode, they’ll scan the area to highlight enemies with a red diamond marker above them, in much the same way as a hired specialist scout from a Fortnite character. You’ll normally get six shots from the Flare Gun, and it’s possible to reveal the same players more than once in a match, although you may have to wait for the red marker to disappear before it counts again.
