50 Centupcoming Netflix documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs“the alleged criminal history of these types of individuals has a long story to tell.

“It’s a story with a significant human impact. It’s a complex narrative that spans decades, not just the headlines or clips you’ve seen so far,” said 50 Cent, 49, who directed the series, Alexandria Stapletonhe said in a new statement Diversity on Wednesday, September 25. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to giving a voice to those who don’t have one and to providing authentic and nuanced perspectives. Our goal is to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the broader contributions of the culture.”

50 Cent first announced in December 2023 that his production company, G-Unit Films and Television Inc., was developing a series. At the time, Diddy, 54, was recently sued by four different women, including his ex-girlfriend Kasiawho accused him of sexual and physical abuse. Diddy has denied all accusations from four women, and he and Cassie, 38, settled the case in November 2023.

In May, CNN obtained surveillance footage from 2016 that shows Diddy grabbing, pushing, pulling and kicking Cassie. The rapper then took to Instagram to “take full responsibility” for his actions.

The accusations against Diddy have continued to mount in the months since. 50 Cent’s latest comments about Diddy’s docuseries come after the music mogul was indicted by a grand jury on September 16 and arrested. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit extortion, human trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He was denied bond and will remain in custody pending trial.

50 Cent previously responded to the 14-page indictment unsealed on September 17, which accused Diddy of, among other things, organizing “elaborate and choreographed sexual performances” known as “Freak Offs” by using “force, threats of force, and coercion to induce victims to engage in prolonged sexual acts with male sex workers.”

Although both rappers started their careers in the music industry around the same time, 50 Cent admitted that he never trusted Diddy.

“I never partied or hung out with him. (Diddy) is a businessman. When (people call him) a producer, I see people who were exploited, who were producing things that he took from them. He got the credit. He’s not a producer,” he claimed in a July interview Hollywood Reporter“He could have benefited from the business and the creative people in it. I have no interest in doing that. I actually fall into the creative category. So I just didn’t want to do that.”

“I stayed away from that sh** for years,” he said. “It’s just the uncomfortable energy associated with it.”
