Jordan Packers injury status revealed in week four

The Green Bay Packers are preparing for this weekend’s NFC North matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the team is still not sure who will be their center when the competition begins.

Green Bay starts quarterback Malik Willis while starter Jordan Love is recovering from an MCL injury he suffered in Week 1. Love may return this week against Minnesota as he practices on a limited basis each day.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Love has officially been ruled questionable for the divisional game.

If Love could play, the Packers would feel much better about their chances against the Vikings. Minnesota looks like the best team in football, especially after dominating the Houston Texans last week.

While Willis performed well for the Packers, Love starting would be encouraging for the remainder of the season for Green Bay. This match could decide the league’s seeding, so each team would like to gain an advantage over the other.

In two games as a starter, Willis has looked better than many might have expected. He threw for 324 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. The former Liberty running back also rushed for 114 yards and one score on the ground, showing off his dual-threat skills.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said he was encouraged by Love’s team prognosis, but his status still remains uncertain. Green Bay will likely allow Love to test everything before starting before making a final decision on his playing status.

“Every time he’s out there it’s encouraging, but we’ll see,” Love’s LaFleur said after Friday’s practice.

He has been making significant progress over the past few weeks and could see game action sooner than many people thought. Green Bay is in wait-and-see mode with Love, but the new update may suggest he’ll give it a shot.

Before his injury, Love was viewed as one of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the NFL. He signed a massive contract extension with the Packers this summer, so Green Bay will want to be extra cautious with their franchise star.

Regardless of who is in the spotlight for the Packers, the goal will be to get out of Minnesota with a victory. Green Bay has Super Bowl aspirations, and winning the division is the first step to achieving those goals.
