The last photo of Maggie Smith from the Loewe fashion campaign has appeared on the Internet.

The beloved actress, who died on Friday at the age of 89, became the new face of the luxury fashion house in October 2023.

Smith posed for a series of glamorous photos while modeling for the Spanish brand.

In one photo, the “Downton Abbey” star smiled for the camera while wearing an oversized, shaggy coat and carrying an olive handbag.

Her hair was delicately framed around her face and she accessorized the look with rings.

The second shot showed Smith sitting in a black and white dress, staring at the camera without smiling and holding a burgundy handbag.

Smith’s sons, Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin, announced the veteran’s death in a statement Friday morning.

“It is with great sadness that we must announce the death of Dame Maggie Smith. She was a very private person and was with her friends and family at the end. She leaves behind two sons and five loving grandchildren, devastated by the loss of an extraordinary mother and grandmother.”

Smith was born on December 28, 1934, in Ilford, England, and left behind a long list of accolades, including the iconic stern Professor McGonagall in eight Harry Potter films and the caustic Dowager Countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey. “

The lady also starred in “Sister Act” alongside Whoopi Goldberg. The View co-host paid tribute to her late colleague in a touching Instagram post.

“Maggie Smith was a wonderful woman and a brilliant actress. I still can’t believe that I was lucky enough to work with “one of a kind,” the 68-year-old wrote on Instagram. “My deepest condolences to the family… RIP.”

Goldberg posted a photo of herself and Smith from the hit 1992 comedy, and fans flocked to the comments to share their fond memories of the classic film.

One user wrote, “When people first think of her in Harry Potter, I first think of her in the ‘Nurse Act’ movies with you,” while another chimed in, “My favorite Maggie Smith line was ‘Go with God, crispy!’

Adding to the kind words, a fan commented, “I was hoping he would be in ‘SISTER ACT 3!’ I first met Maggie in Sister’s Act. TEAR.”

Goldberg herself had the same hope. The talk show host previously stated that she would only reprise her role in a potential sequel if Smith did too.

During a 2023 appearance on the British talk show “Loose Women,” Goldberg said she “acts as mother superior” to the “Downton Abbey” star.

“One of the things I want to make sure while I’m here is that I want Maggie Smith to know that I am acting as Mother Superior to you,” the “View” co-host said as she looked directly into the camera. “Because I can’t do it with anyone else but you.”

Goldberg noted that she is willing to do anything to attract the “Harry Potter” actress.

“So if you want me to come here and shoot and do whatever we need to do, we’ll do whatever you want us to do,” she added. – But we don’t want to do this without you, Maggie.

The film tells the story of Deloris Wilson (Goldberg), a singer placed in witness protection after witnessing a brutal murder. She poses as Sister Mary Clarence after being transferred to a convent in San Francisco and is constantly at odds with Smith’s mother superior.

A year later, the duo reprized their roles in the sequel “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.” In 2020, Disney announced that there would be a third installment of “Sister Act” to be released on Disney+.

In June, actress Tanya Trotter revealed that the script for “Sisters Act 3” had been completed.

While she couldn’t say whether she would participate in the third film, the 47-year-old told Entertainment Tonight that she knows “the script is ready.”

And if they call, she will answer.

As Trotter put it: “Anything that Whoopi Goldberg is a part of – because she’s a legend, an icon, she’s my mentor and a hero – yes, I would say that.”
