Once aboard the ISS, Haga and Gorbunov will become members of the Expedition 72 crew and will conduct research, technology demonstrations and maintenance activities. The pair will be joined by NASA astronauts Don Petitt, Butch Wilmore, Suni Williams, as well as Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner.

Will the weather affect the start?

Launch weather specialists predict a 55% chance that the launch will occur taking into account the cumulus cloud rule, precipitation, and surface electric fields (the one-minute average of the field mill network must not exceed -1 or +1 kilovolt per meter within 5 nautical miles of the launch pad ) are the main problems.

The Dragon spacecraft’s hatch has been closed and the rocket remains on track for liftoff at 1:17 p.m
