How old is Alabama’s star freshman wide receiver?

One of Alabama football’s most explosive players should still be in high school in 2024.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Crimson Tide recruit Ryan Williams, a 2025 recruit who was reclassified to the 2024 class, was the fourth overall prospect and third receiver in the last recruiting cycle.

He is also still too young to vote in the upcoming elections.

The 17-year-old is Alabama’s leading receiver so far this season, catching 10 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 28.5 yards per reception.

He is also the youngest player in the FBS.

The blue-chip prospect certainly had the pedigree to bring as a freshman, arriving in Tuscaloosa as the first two-time Mr. winner. Football in the state of Alabama, a state known for its football tradition and influx of talent. He also had an incredibly productive final two years of high school, gaining over 4,600 all-purpose yards and 65 touchdowns at Saraland High School.

Williams, Alabama’s true freshman star, is still 17 years old. He will turn 18 only after the season on February 9, 2025.

He was born on February 9, 2007 and on his birthday he planned to sign with the Crimson Tide. He decided to sign the NLI on February 7, 2024, together with his teammates.

Williams committed to Alabama as a high school sophomore but opted out after former coach Nick Saban retired in January. After reconsidering his options, he rejoined the Crimson Tide and coach Kalen DeBoer on Jan. 24, two weeks after Saban’s retirement.
