Check out a rare glimpse into how Sophia Loren spent her 90th birthday

Even though Sophia Loren was planned to celebrate her 90th birthday with a small group of friends and family, someone gave her a big surprise. Hint: Giorgio Armani was the one who surprised her.

In case you missed it, the legendary designer shared a video of him surprising Loren on her birthday. He shared the video with the caption: “A special 90th birthday celebration for Sophia Loren. For this occasion, the actress decided to wear #GiorgioArmaniPrive. @leonardellimassimo Edoardo Ponti.”

In the video, we see Loren smiling from ear to ear, surprised by so many people who adore her. She looks stunning in a sparkling white gown as she takes in her surroundings. Along with the surprise, an opera singer sang to her. (And you can see the exact moment she was surprised!)

“Sophia checked everything on her wish list,” a friend told Closer Weekly. “She had a full life and wouldn’t change a thing.”

They added: “At this point in her life, Sophia’s passion is spending time with her grandchildren, sitting in her garden and watching her favorite shows or classic films. He wants to feel comfortable, talk well with friends and eat good meals.
