Does ‘Sister Wives’ star Kody Brown want to have more children?

Kody Brown has spent the last 19 seasons Sister Wives proving why polygamy doesn’t work. Now this former polygamist in his 50s has separated from three of his four wives and most of his adult children. Although Kody Brown doesn’t seem interested in rebuilding his relationship with his current children, he is open to having more children.

Kody Brown says he jokes about having more children

Kody Brown isn’t receiving any Father of the Year awards, but he’s open to expanding his family. At least he was open to the idea a few years ago. In 2021, Kody Brown told Us Weekly that he wasn’t opposed to adding more children to his family. Still, he insisted he left the decision to Robyn Brown. Despite this, he made it clear that he was interested.

Kody relates this every time he asks Robyn about potentially expanding their family. Kody told the newspaper that he often “jokes” with his older children about having children younger than some of his grandchildren. He claimed that jokes were an easy way for him to regain his youth.

Did Kody bring Robyn into the family to have more children?

Kody’s desire to become a father again could spell doom for his marriage to Robyn Brown. This could have been the catalyst for all of the Brown family’s troubles. While it’s unclear what exactly prompted Kody and his then-wives to seek a fourth wife, adding more children to the family may have played a significant role in their decision.

When Kody met Robyn, Christine Brown was pregnant with her last child, Truely Brown. Sure, Christine probably could have had more children at this point, but she was already in her late 40s and had welcomed six children with her then-husband. She seemed to be done with that part of her life when Robyn got involved.

Janelle Brown also seemed to be fed up with being pregnant when Kody and Robyn got married. Janelle and Kody have six children together, the youngest of which was born in 2004. Janelle was 41 when Robyn joined the family, and she had welcomed her youngest child six years earlier.

Meri Brown, who struggled with infertility, was 39 when Kody and Robyn met and had already had trouble getting pregnant for years. With one child, it was unlikely that Meri would have had more children with Kody without medical intervention.

Robyn is much younger than Kody’s other wives and actually welcomed two children with him before the polygamy collapsed. She also brought three children from a previous relationship into the marriage. Although the couple is still together, Robyn is now 45, which could complicate the process. If Kody hopes to expand his family, he may have to look for another wife. It’s unclear whether Robyn would be open to the idea. Fans suspect that the new wife will completely destroy Kody and Robyn’s bond.
