Former President Donald Trump will visit Fayetteville next week, the Trump campaign announced Saturday afternoon.

Trump will host a town hall at the Crown Coliseum at 7 pm Friday, according to a news release from the campaign.

He will take questions directly from voters, the release said, listen to their concerns and share why he thinks his policies will benefit North Carolinians.

Trump last visited Fayetteville for the funeral of Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway in January 2023. She and her sister, Herneitha Rochelle “Silk” Hardaway, were a popular right-wing political duo.

This will be Trump’s first visit to Fayetteville during the current election cycle, but he was in Wilmington last weekend. Vice President Kamala Harris was in Fayetteville on July 18, just days before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her as his successor in the presidential contest.

Trump leads Harris in North Carolina, considered a critical battleground state, in a poll released by the New York Times and Siena College. Trump had a narrow lead of 49-47 in the survey of 682 North Carolina voters.
