The couple, who share daughter Elsie, eight, and married in April 2015, announced they were splitting earlier this year

Meet the Richardsons is a documentary about Dave and Elsa and mum Lucy Gill, who appeared in it with the couple.

But now Lucy told The Times: “I don’t regret anything, but in this next stage I’m very careful to keep my personal life private.

“Sometimes I feel guilty for talking about my daughter and my marriage, and my mom and dad.

“I think part of it felt grateful, grateful that I got the job, grateful that I was interviewed, and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything.”

On Saturday, Lucy broke her silence about the breakup for the first time, saying OK! Magazine: “People might think I should talk about it because we were very public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won’t and not because there is any hostility there.

“We both agreed that while it might be weird that other people wouldn’t hear anything about it, we wouldn’t talk about anything related to marriage or each other.”

She added about her new approach to life, which she has recently changed now that she is in her 40s: “I don’t really feel any different, I’m just a little angrier and I don’t want to wish anything on anyone.”

It comes after Lucy said she sometimes worries she “made a mistake” by marrying Jon when she criticized his stubbornness in an unearthed recording.

A video of Lucy sharing her worries about marriage has been re-aired on Jon’s Ultimate Worrier show, where she invites guests to help him work through his many worries.

When asked if Lucy was worried about her ex-husband, she replied: “I have a lot. Sometimes I worry that I’ve made a mistake.

Lucy went on to describe Jon’s inability to admit when he is wrong or wrong, which she believes can be difficult for a marriage.

“I think what’s really hard in a marriage is when the other person can’t admit they’re wrong,” she continued. – I can’t apologize, I made a mistake.

During the episode, the former couple was joined by Jonathan Ross, who chimed in and said: “This is extremely important, the relationship can’t survive this.”

“You can’t judge me until I make a mistake,” Jon replied, and the audience started laughing. – It’s not fair.

To prove her point, Lucy added: “And he really thinks that I’m the one who’s flawed and that you’re never wrong. I have an example and it’s quite a, you know, nice story that I’m telling you.

Lucy started telling a story about their honeymoon where they rented a car and traveled around America, and Jon looked at a map and decided to book a hotel in Santa Cruz.

“Then I looked up Santa Cruz and it had the lowest homicide rate in America,” she said. – Worse than Los Angeles, it’s the most dangerous place. I told Jon this and he said it was good that I had already booked it.

“So we went to this falafel place, sat in the window, looked at the sea, and I thought, it’s starting to get a little later, everything’s changing a little bit, and then all this wouldn’t be there anymore.

Anyway, a gang showed up and one of them was stabbed in the chest. I looked at Jon and he remained emotionless. It was like he was looking at two pigeons fighting and I was shocked.

Lucy added: “I said, ‘Oh, I can’t eat it,’ so Jon ate my falafel too, and I said, ‘Does that bother you?’

– All because he didn’t want to admit that we were in a dangerous place.

In another old clip that was shared recently, Lucy jokingly said she didn’t think her marriage to Jon would last for the rest of her life, two years before they announced their split.

In the unearthed ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Countdown’ 2022 clip, Lucy shared her honest look at their marriage, prompting Jon, also 41, to ask “are you guys breaking up?”

At a taping of the show, host Jimmy Carr asked Lucy: “What made you decide to settle down?”

To which the comedian replied, “I can’t see it for the rest of my life, isn’t there a song called Just Passing Through?” A season, a reason, or a lifetime.

She added, “I think part of it felt grateful, grateful that I got the job, grateful that I was interviewed, and feeling like I had to sacrifice and share everything.”

“You meet old souls, new souls, assholes in your life. Before Jon, I had never eaten an avocado. We had a wonderful life together. We had a daughter.

Who knows what will happen in the future.

Stunned, Jon asked, “Are you two breaking up now?” before putting his head in his hands.

Lucy replied: “We have a wonderful daughter, so it was worth it.”
