6-Banner Sunday: IU commits 4-star Trent Sisley – Inside the Hall

Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production of The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we break down the top five IU basketball stories from the past week, as well as take a look at how other IU sports programs are faring.

With scheduling information now in the rearview mirror, recruiting has come to the fore with many changes. Last week, IU completed its top goals by a one-for-two margin and made its first commitment in 2025. Additionally, another prospect high on IU’s priority list narrowed down its options and put the Hoosiers in the final three.

Additionally, Inside the Hall continued its series featuring other Big Ten teams. As usual, we’ll end with a look at IU’s other sports, led by football, which defeated Maryland to post its first 5-0 record since 1967.

Here’s what’s in this week’s edition:

• Indiana signed four-star Trent Sisley
• Jalen Haralson chooses Notre Dame over IU and Michigan State
• Braylon Mullins announced his top three schools
• Inside The Hall Big Ten team previews
• Podcast on Brink and Back Home Network
• Hoosier Summary

IU men’s basketball will play several games on Peacock this upcoming season, and the women’s will also play several games, making the streaming service a must-have for IU basketball fans. Banner No. 1 – Indiana commits four-star Trent Sisley

The week started with Hoosier fans celebrating and sharing some huge recruiting news. After visiting Bloomington last weekend, one of the top recruits in the country chose IU and became the first 2025 commit in the process.

Trent Sisley will play college basketball at Assembly Hall as the Hoosiers beat Matt Painter and Purdue, among others, for his contributions. Sisley played his first three years of high school basketball at Heritage Hills before transferring to Montverde in the fall.

Sisley is the No. 75 player in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He also marks Hoosier coach Mike Woodson’s first high school commitment from Indiana during his tenure. After the oath of office, Inside the Hall conducted a question and answer session with Sisley. Assembly Call also had a podcast on emergencies.

Banner #2 – Jalen Haralson chooses Notre Dame over IU and Michigan State

While the importance of landing Sisley should not be underestimated, Indiana missed another major in-state target a few days later. After narrowing his list to IU and with high expectations from Hoosier fans, Jalen Haralson announced he was going elsewhere.

While at Indiana, Haralson will play college basketball further north at Notre Dame under Micah Shrewsberry, who is forming an elite class for the Fighting Irish. Haralson is ranked No. 13 in the 247Sports Composite and is the highest-ranked player ND has ever had.

Banner #3 – Braylon Mullins announced his top three schools

The other top target from Indiana that the Hoosiers are actively pursuing is Braylon Mullins. Mullins has not yet made a decision about his future, but he is a member of Sisley’s AAU team. He also whittled down the list of schools he’s considering to three, which includes IU as well as UConn and North Carolina.

The hall examined where Indiana currently stands in its 2025 recruiting in light of Sisley’s commitment and Haralson’s miss. Other targets besides Mullins include Nate Ament, Mikel Brown Jr., Eric Reibe and Bryson Tiller.

Banner #4 – Big Ten Team Preview from Inside The Hall

Inside the Hall continued its series featuring other Big Ten teams. This week, they took a look at lineups that are projected to be near the top of the league, including UCLA, Illinois, Rutgers, Michigan State and Purdue.

Banner No. 5 – Podcast on Brink and Back Home Network

The podcast on the Brink aired last week. In it, Crimson Cast’s Scott Caulfield joined to discuss the upcoming basketball season.

Crimson Cast has also been active on its own, releasing four new episodes. Bison Chat, Doing The Work and Dribble Drive have also recorded shows.

Banner #6 – Catching a Hoosier

• Football had its first close game of the season. However, the Hoosiers defeated Maryland 42-28 to start 5-0 for the first time since 1967.

• The men’s soccer team had one of its best games of the season against top-five ranked Ohio State. Despite heavy rain, Indiana scored a valuable point in the conference race with a 2-2 tie.

• Volleyball defeated state rival Notre Dame and finished non-conference play with a score of 7-3. But a few days later, they lost in the Big Ten opener at Washington and Oregon.

• Women’s soccer won its first Big Ten game of the season this week, defeating Oregon in Eugene. They also fell to USC last Sunday in Bloomington.

• Men’s golf won the tournament at Purdue.

• Field hockey fell to Northwestern and Penn State.

• Baseball split a pair of fall exhibition games in Louisville.

• In women’s tennis, the player participated in the ITA All-American Championships.

• Softball will compete in Puerto Vallarta next February.

• Finally, women’s basketball finished a solid fifth in the Big Ten next year despite the expiration of the program’s all-time winningest player Mackenzie Holmes. The addition of both Los Angeles schools has pushed the Hoosiers down several spots, with both newcomers expected to be among the top five in the nation.

Thank you for your continued support of The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall. We’ll be back next weekend with a new recap.

Now go and enjoy your six banner Sunday.
