Players saw a familiar sight when the latest official trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was released on Sunday.

In a video posted on the game’s YouTube channel, The Replacement returned to action.

The Deputy was first introduced in the marketing campaign leading up to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in 2013. He also returned in Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4. However, the Deputy was absent in the build-up to 2020’s Black Ops: Cold War.

He returns ahead of the launch of Black Ops 6, fulfilling his former role of replacing players in their daily lives so they can have more time to play Call of Duty. In Sunday’s film The Applyr, he plays a firefighter, a driver for a ride-sharing company and more.

The character is played by actor Peter Stormare, also known for his roles in films Fargo AND John Wick: Chapter 2. The replacement was also introduced as a playable option in Black Ops 4 Blackout mode in 2019.

While his status as a playable character in Black Ops 6 is unknown, he returns ahead of the release of the highly anticipated game.

The worldwide premiere will take place on October 25.
