Predictions on how to watch ‘SNF’

Predictions on how to watch ‘SNF’

A preview of the potential AFC Championship Game will air on Sunday evening.

The Buffalo Bills will face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4 of Sunday Night Football. Both teams are also planning an interesting start to the 2024 seasons.

Josh Allen looks as good as Josh Allen has ever looked in the NFL: The Bills passer leads the MVP standings with a 75% completion rate, seven passing touchdowns and a passer rating of 133.7 this season.

It hasn’t been the same offensive success for the Ravens yet. Lamar Jackson has three passing touchdowns in his first three games and one rushing touchdown. The Ravens are 1-2 on the season and escaped Dallas with a win in Week 3, a potential course correction after an 0-2 start.

The Superstar QB Battle will take place in Week 4. USA TODAY Sports will provide live updates, highlights and more from the Week 4 “Sunday Night Football” matchup below.

There was one notable statistic that stood out as a potential problem for Jackson. He completed just a 59.1 percent passing percentage during his final college season and only a 57 percent passing percentage overall throughout his college career. It’s rare for quarterbacks to significantly improve their accuracy and efficiency at the NFL level, which is why some talent evaluators questioned Jackson’s tendency to miss simple throws, as NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein put it.

That’s why a select few – like former Indianapolis Colts general manager and ESPN talent Bill Polian – have argued that Jackson should transition to receiver at the NFL level.

Few agreed with Polian’s stance, although Jackson revealed on a Ravens podcast that the Los Angeles Chargers asked him to practice as a receiver during the 2018 NFL Combine.

The Bills’ rebuilding of their receiving corps without Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, as well as free agency, highlighted Josh Allen’s development in a diverse offense. Sure, third-year pro Khalil Shakir, a field-stretching sailor, continues to make progress. Shakir was targeted 14 times and made 14 catches. But balance was the ticket for Allen.

“I think he spreads the ball more,” Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr told reporters this week. “You really don’t know where the ball is going to go. All of his receivers are capable of intercepting the ball in any situation at any time – including running backs and running backs.”

How is Josh Allen doing?

NBC’s No. 1 Sunday Night Football team will remain intact, at least for the foreseeable future.

According to a report from The Athletic, NBC Sports is close to extending a new four-year contract with top analyst Cris Collinsworth. The extension will keep him online through the 2029-30 season. His current contract runs until the 2026 season.

NBC plans to air two more Super Bowls in the next six years, including Super Bowl 60 in 2026 and Super Bowl 64 in 2030.

Collinsworth, 65, who has won seven Emmy Awards for top sports studio analyst, earns about $12.5 million a year and works with Mike Tirico to call games.

The Bills currently sit atop the AFC East and have a chance to extend their lead with a win over the Ravens today. Here is the AFC East standings after Sunday’s games:

  1. Bills (3-0)
  2. Nozzles (2-2)
  3. Dolphins (1-2)
  4. Patriots (1-3)

On Sunday, the Ravens will have a chance to close the gap between themselves and the Steelers with a victory. Here’s how the AFC North team is doing after Sunday’s games:

  1. Steelers (3-1)
  2. Ravens (1-2)
  3. Bengals (1-3)
  4. Brown (1-3)

Weather conditions will be worth monitoring during the Bills vs. Ravens on “Sunday Night Football.” When the game starts, the temperature will be 68 degrees and the humidity will be 90 percent. According to Weather.com, rain will “likely” begin around 9:45 p.m. ET.

Winds will be gusting up to 8 mph throughout the game, which could create challenging conditions for kickers when rain arrives. Throwing the ball early in the game shouldn’t be too difficult for Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, but it may become more difficult later in the game when rain splashes the ball.

The Bills will be without two starters against the Ravens: cornerback Taron Johnson and middle linebacker Terrel Bernard. Below is a full breakdown of their inactive “SNF” individuals:

  • CB Taron Johnson
  • S Mike Edwards
  • LB Terrel Bernard
  • LB Edefuan Ulofoshio
  • C/G Will Clapp

The Ravens will not play without left guard Andrew Vorhees in the game against the Bills. Below is a full breakdown of their inactives:

  • FS Beau Brade
  • NT Michael Pierce
  • C. Nick Samac
  • G. Andrew Vorhees
  • WR Devontez Walker

Reese attends the Week 4 Ravens-Bills “Sunday Night Football” game. The Ravens posted a video of the Chicago Sky star saying he is “very excited” to be at the game and representing Baltimore.
