Lazio will play again in the Europa League: The former Barcelona star returns to the starting line-up

Lazio coach Marco Baroni will once again make changes to his starting lineup for the upcoming Europa League clash with Nice. The Biancocelesti manager is fielding his strongest squad in Serie A, while also using the European competition as a way to give other players more playing time.

This strategy has paid off over the last few days as the club recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv last Wednesday, while keeping fresh legs ahead of the Serie A campaign against Turin. Baroni’s team won by three goals to two, recording their first away league win this season.

According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the Italian capital will continue to follow this mantra during their match against Nice at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday in the second round of the Europa League group stage.

Lazio’s squad could feature six changes ahead of the Europa League

Ivan Provedel will retain his place in goal, while Adam Marusic and Luca Pellegrini will take over as full-backs. Alessio Romagnoli and the returning Patric will fight for a place alongside Mario Gil in central defense. The source also expects Nicolo Rovella to be rested, making way for the midfield duo of Matteo Guendouzi and Matias Vecino.

The report also advises Tata Castellanos to keep his place in the starting lineup, but he will have a different supporting cast. Loum Tchaouna, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Pedro could all be given another chance after delivering the goods for Hamburg last week, leaving Gustav Isaksen, Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni on the bench.

Lazio (4-2-3-1): Provedel, Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Guendouzi, Vecino; Tchaouna, Dele-Bashiru, Pedro; Castellano.
