Drew Barrymore Says ‘Hollywood Squares’ Revival Will Be ‘Naughty’

The long-awaited film is in production Hollywood Squares a reboot that star Drew Barrymore promises will be “naughty” and “funny.”

Barrymore, who serves as co-producer Hollywood Squares along with her production company, Flower Films, told viewers how she plans to pay tribute to the original series, which aired from 1966 to 1980.

“I thought, you know what? I think this show should go back to the 1970s. We need to stop saying, “We’re so afraid to say or do anything.” I just want to have fun,” she said. “It’s all about comedy. And everything is open and ambiguous. And that’s a bit rude, it’s a late night show. We’re having fun.”

Hollywood Squares is a game show in which two contestants must compete in a game of tic-tac-toe for a chance to win cash and other prizes. On each open-faced cube sits a different star who must answer players’ questions.
