Natalie Portman welcomed 2010 in a black minidress and high-heeled tights

This was basically my going out outfit in college.

During the day, the 2010s were known as the decade of leggings (probably paired with comfy shoes or sneakers), but at night it was all about wearing tights with heels. Natalie Portman, for example, is campaigning for the return of this bizarre combination.

On Monday, Portman attended Stella McCartney’s spring-summer 2025 runway show during Paris Fashion Week and refreshed her ubiquitous dress uniform from 2010 for the occasion. And while the Portman version was much more polished than the one I wore when I was in college, it still followed the same mini dress pattern paired with stockings and pumps. Seated front row, the actress wore a strapless LBD dress – with a sculptural sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice – with translucent black tights and matching shiny black heels.

She accessorized minimally, adding only a black leather square purse to her look, which highlighted her red-painted nails. Portman wore her hair down and straight with a wide side part and completed her glow with glossy pink lips and rosy cheeks.

Earlier this week, the Oscar winner made another front-row appearance at Dior in the brand’s Cruise 2025 collection, which coincidentally referenced another trend from the 2010s. Wearing a flared miniskirt with chain mail embellishments and a black corset jacket, Portman completed her outfit with a pair of chunky black knee-high boots with silver buckles.
