Lalrinliana Hnamte, currently considered one of the young and promising midfielders in Indian football, has been steadily rising through the ranks of the domestic competition over the last few seasons. Hnamte has played for illustrious clubs such as East Bengal and Mohun Bagan and currently plays for Chennaiyin FC. Without a doubt, being called up to the national team is an excellent opportunity for the youngster to consolidate his place on the international arena.

Aakash Sangwan

Aakash Sangwan is another exciting addition to Manolo Marquez’s squad. The 28-year-old has made over 115 appearances, scored three goals and has 15 assists.

Although his main role is as a left-back, he has shown that he can push forward, provide width and deliver dangerous crosses into the penalty area. After featuring for Chennaiyin FC in the last edition of the ISL, Sangwan’s defensive acumen and attacking skills on the left wing did not go unnoticed.

Aakash Sangwan, who is an excellent left-back with a solid defensive attitude and excellent ability to recover on the wings, makes him an ideal choice for coach Manolo and the Blue Tigers.

Therefore, Aakash’s inclusion in the squad for the upcoming Vietnam-friendly Tri-Nation tournament reflects Marquez’s desire to strengthen the Indian defense while retaining the attacking fluidity that modern full-backs provide.
