Bella Hadid is arguably the biggest supermodel of this generation, and that inevitably means that public attention will often turn to her personal life.

Hadid’s love life in particular often makes headlines, whether it’s her on-off romance with ex The Weeknd or her ongoing love story with real-life cowboy Adan Banuelos.

Hadid previously opened up about breaking old relationship habits in a 2022 episode of Victoria’s Secret VS votes podcast.

“Growing up, I always felt like my voice was never heard. That’s why I have so many complications. Now I can open up and express my opinion, especially in relationships and family, she thought. “I grew up around men – whether it was in relationships, family, or whatever – where I was constantly told that my voice was less important than theirs.”

Hadid revealed that she has to consciously work to advocate for herself in her romantic relationships. “Going into relationships as I was growing up, not having boundaries in which I could stand up for myself and have my voice heard actually affected me very intensely in my adult relationships. My nervous system would collapse. It was fight or flight,” she continued. “It’s something I really had to work on.”

Adan Banuelos (2023–present)

Hadid was first linked to Banuelos in October 2023, when paparazzi photos of the two kissing and holding hands in Texas quickly spread online. Since then, their romance has continued to grow, with Hadid sharing snippets of their relationship on Instagram and accompanying Banuelos to the New York premiere of Teton Ridge Window to the West.

According to TMZ, Hadid spends a lot of her free time in Texas, where the Mexican-American rider lives, and she even reportedly bought a property in Fort Worth to be closer to Banuelos, according to TMZ.

Marc Kalman (2021–2023)

The supermodel sparked dating rumors with Kalman, a New York art director, in July 2021 by posting PDA-filled photos of the two of them on her Instagram. Throughout their relationship, the couple was often spotted spending time together in New York, and Kalman sometimes accompanied Hadid when she was booked for fashion shows in Milan and Paris.

In July 2022, rumors about the planned proposal began to appear. “Bella and Marc Kalman are very happy together. Their relationship is going very well and things are serious. They have been together for a while and really love each other,” the source said Entertainment tonight. “Marc plans to propose to Bella in the fall. They talked about getting engaged and getting married in California.

However, the engagement never took place. Insiders said ET in July 2023, Hadid and Kalman officially broke up. “They were very much in love, but the relationship eventually came to an end and they decided to end everything. “Bella is a very nice person, but she struggles with the pressures of fame,” the insider said. “Her breakup with Marek was amicable, and she always takes care of herself and talks about it very openly.”

Weekend (2015–2019)

Hadid’s long-running romance with Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, is her most publicized relationship to date.

Dating rumors first surfaced in May 2015 after they were spotted “hanging out at Coachella” and “flirting,” according to ME! News.

Hadid rarely commented on their relationship in a 2016 interview Charm: “I’m dating Abel. I don’t see him as The Weeknd. I’m proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel.”

They split after about a year of dating, and reunited shortly after their split at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris. Despite the seemingly amicable reunion, Tesfaye continued his relationship with Selena Gomez, dating the actor for most of 2017.

“It was my first breakup… and so public,” Hadid stated in a February 2017 interview with the magazine Teen Vogue. “As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but you always have it in your heart and you always feel it very strongly. It’s going to be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to survive it.

About a month after Tesfaye split from Gomez, he resumed his romance with Hadid in November 2017. They dated for almost two years before breaking up for the final time.

“They are in different places now, physically and mentally,” the source explained ME! News then. “Bella is preparing for her fashion week duties, and Abel is working on his music and upcoming acting debut.” They added: “They have been arguing a lot lately. (They) haven’t spent quality time together in months.

A few months after their split, Tesfaye released “Heartless,” a song that reportedly references his relationship with Hadid. The lyrics seem to refer to a lover who leaves once in a while: “I thought I lost you this time / You just came back into my life / You never gave up on me (why won’t you?) / I” I’ll never know what you see (why don’t you do it?).”
