While we haven’t seen Rebecca in action on RHONY, she hasn’t made the best impression on fans so far. She admitted that she tried to fake fight Jenna Lyons, which is a no-go category for any reality show. Plus, accusations against her dad’s “medical” practice made some fans think she might be too controversial for the once-beloved series.

Ahead of the RHONY Season 15 premiere, Brynn spoke with E! News about a controversial new cast member. Without hesitation, she came to Rebecca’s defense. She said fans need to ignore the Scientology connection and give it a chance.

“Everyone has their own belief system and that is their right,” Brynn argued. “It was something new for our group and I think people will be very interested in it and Rebecca sharing this part of her life.”

According to Brynn, Rebecca’s beliefs in Scientology were discussed on camera. With that in mind, she praised Rebecca for being brave and putting herself and her religion on the line.

“It’s something private, it’s her philosophy, it’s her beliefs,” Brynn explained. “Listen, we all have different things, whatever it is – good, bad, faith, trauma, relationships – that’s what this show is about.”

“What people share and the depth that they share is what they feel comfortable with at that moment,” Brynn continued. “It’s really hard to come out and share everything. So he does it at his own pace and at his own comfort level.”

Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York premieres on Bravo on October 1 at 9/8c.
