EastEnders delivers shocking news for Yolande Trueman in an early version of BBC iPlayer

Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) received shocking news in the latest episode of EastEnders as the BBC soap aired another powerful set of scenes.

When Pastor Gideon Clayton (Howard Saddler), the man who sexually assaulted her, arrived at her home and accused her of spreading lies about him, she was shocked.

But while Clayton claimed she had destroyed his career, his reputation, and now his marriage, and his wife Stella now saw his true colors, Yolande remained tall and strong.

When Clayton grabbed her phone to force her to call the police to retract her statement, Yolande refused.

When he suggested that Yolande must be a hateful person, she insisted that she had tried to live without hatred in her heart; even in the face of what Clayton put her through.

Meanwhile, she noted, he used God as a smokescreen to carry out his evil deeds.

Pastor Clayton’s attack left her unable to bear being touched by her beloved Patrick (Rudolph Walker), Yolande added, revealing how deeply Clayton’s attack had affected her life.

When teenage Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) arrived and tried to enter, Yolande stopped him, then ordered Clayton to leave her house.

Meanwhile, at The Queen Vic, an unaware Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) persuaded Patrick to come back to check on Yolande, but he later returned home and found out what had happened.

Unwilling to let Pastor Clayton ruin her life even more, Yolande insisted that the family eat dinner normally. However, as the evening progressed, DS Amartey arrived with some news.

Assuming the detective was there to talk to her about Clayton’s unwanted visit, Yolande explained that she planned to contact the police the next morning.

But DS Amartey revealed that Gideon Clayton took his own life that evening. When Yolande was trying to come to terms with the situation, how would she react to the sudden death of her attacker?
