The president of the Stop & Shop brand leaves his position and a new one is appointed

Amid announcements of the closure of more than 30 Stop & Shop locations, brand president Gordon Reid announced his plans to step down immediately and retire in mid-2025.

Reid has worked at Stop & Shop since 2019 and previously worked for six years at Giant Food, a grocery store owned by the same parent company as Stop & Shop. According to a press release from parent company Ahold Delhaize USA, Reid will remain with the company to lead strategic initiatives until his retirement.

“Gordon has made a tremendous impact on our business, leading multiple initiatives to reposition brands and establish future strategy,” said CEO JJ Fleeman. “His leadership transformed the customer shopping experience.”
