All the upcoming features of Minecraft 2024: new mob, biome and everything we know

Minecraft is constantly offering amazing updates with new mobs, highly anticipated features, and more to keep your adventure fresh and exciting.

While Minecraft’s design may remain the same, its features are far from outdated. Mojang regularly strives to provide brand new ways to enjoy the blocky world, whether it’s introducing protection for your pet wolves, an adorable armadillo, or brand new trials that provide more rewards and challenging battles.

However, with so much changing all the time, it can be difficult to know what to expect and when to expect it. Here’s everything we know about Minecraft’s upcoming features, from a terrifying new mob, a spooky added biome, and the release of one of the most anticipated features yet.

Do we know the release date of the Minecraft update?

Not currentlyhowever, as announced during Minecraft Live 2024, these updates will work slightly differently than previous versions, which saw a major update appear once a year around the summer.

Instead, this was promised to players upcoming features will appear in the “coming months.” So, while no release date has been confirmed, players will likely be able to access them before the end of 2024.

All announced in the next Minecraft update

Most of the features were announced during the Minecraft Live 2024 event, with Mojang revealing a brand new mob, biome, packs, and of course, some new bricks with which to build your next home.

Bedrock Hardcore Mode

The first new feature announced focused on the addition of a Hardcore mode to the Bedrock edition, which is aimed primarily at console users, although PC players will be able to play it as well.

Hardcore is basically a mode where when you die, you die for good and your world is wiped, meaning you lose all your hard-earned builds. What’s more, mobs hit harder, your hunger bar will deplete, and when this happens, it won’t hesitate to lower your hearts to zero.

As mentioned earlier, this long-awaited feature will arrive in a few months.

Packages

Brand new bundles are available with Bedrock Hardcore as part of the Courage Packs feature. Many players may have already seen these additions in snapshots or betas, and there are plenty of them

Packages are a great way to store many items such as flowers, stone, granite and much more. As Mojang highlighted during the stream, the new blocks mean that exploration can quickly fill up your inventory, so bundles are a way to combat this problem.

These will act as separate storage spaces for your items and should make exploring or building easier.

Pale Garden (new biome)

One of the most important features coming in the future is The Pale Garden. This brand new biome focuses on two sides: a peaceful, quiet location during the day and a terrifying and forbidding setting at night.

The forest was designed to be unfamiliar and unsettling, with the field of view deliberately limited with new hanging moss and lots of trees. So it’s the perfect place for a scary house or adventure.

Creaking (new mob)

By entering the Pale Garden at night, some players may discover a new mob, also known as the Creak.

This creepy, tree-like creature is mostly designed out of wood and has Enderman-like eyes. Apart from its similarity, it is different from other enemies you see in Minecraft.

This also applies to his movement and combat, as Creaky will only attack when you stop looking at him, but direct damage won’t harm him, for this you need to destroy Creakyheart.

Creaking Heart (new block)

Acting as a new block and almost a new mob at the same time, The Creaking Heart is the best way to kill The Creaking.

It is hidden among the trees of the Pale Garden, and in order for players to destroy the crowd, they must first destroy its heart.

In Minecraft Live, players can also use Silk Touch to get the Heart out of the Pale Garden and wreak havoc on friends by hiding in random trees.

Set made of light oak wood

The Pale Garden biome also introduces some brand new blocks in the form of the Pale Oak wood set. As the name suggests, these are new trees that appear around the Garden.

They are most similar to birch blocks, but have a much whiter shade, producing bright white boards, logs, fences, stairs, doors and gates.

However, the new wood blocks are not the only element added. Hanging moss will make your home completely customizable, adding a touch of forest to your design. What’s more, Mojang is introducing a new type of “carpet moss” that spreads moss patterns across the sides of blocks, giving them a creepy, overgrown appearance.

These are all features coming to Minecraft in the coming months. As more features are announced or when a release date is known, we’ll update this guide, so be sure to bookmark it and check back soon.
