Lil Reese arrested and held without bail after allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend

Lil Reese was arrested and held without bail in connection with allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend during a confrontation at a Houston nightclub.

On Monday morning (September 30), the rapper born Tavares Lamont Taylor was charged with aggravated assault of a family or household member.

A 31-year-old man is jailed weeks after Houston police issued an arrest warrant in response to complaints filed by an alleged victim and a witness to the fight.

According to TMZLil Reese was arrested at The Address, a separate nightclub from where the alleged incident took place, and was denied bail, meaning the rapper will likely remain behind bars pending trial.

The rapper is accused of punching the victim in the face and choking him after a romantic rejection at The Pink House nightclub in Houston, leaving the victim with facial abrasions and redness around the neck.

A friend of the victim who witnessed the assault alerted security guards at the scene, which led to police being called and a criminal report filed against Lil Reese, who fled the club before authorities arrived.

The victim, who claims she was “gasping for air” and fearing for her life after the incident, reportedly dated Lil Reese for two months before cutting off contact with the rapper a month before the incident.

According to Lil Reese’s lawyer, the rapper maintains his innocence and wants to defend himself in court.

“Mr. Taylor vehemently denies these false allegations,” said lawyer Carl Moore TMZ. “We look forward to his day in court.”

A judge’s gavel rests on a desk in the courtroom of the newly opened Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum on February 3, 2009 in Miami, Florida. The museum is housed in the only facility known in the country that was designed, intended, and operated as a separate station building and municipal courthouse for African Americans.
