Where to find deals in metro Detroit

If you celebrate Taco Tuesday, the first Tuesday in October is now special.

Thanks to a 2023 Taco Bell petition, National Taco Day, the day celebrating the humble hand-held snack, is officially moving to the first Tuesday in October after being observed on October 4 for years.

The fast food giant has partnered with National Day Calendar to officially postpone the holiday.

“We’ve celebrated National Taco Day on October 4 for years, but we always felt like there was a better chance to combine the day with something even more special – Tuesday,” said Marlo Anderson, founder of the National Taco Day Calendar, according to its website. “Thanks to the efforts of Taco Bell, we are thrilled to officially move National Taco Day to the first Tuesday in October, creating Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays.

In honor of the humble taco and to commemorate the official move, Taco Bell is celebrating $1 tacos for 10 hours on Tuesday, plus exclusive deals through October. Taco Bell $1 deals start Tuesday at 10 a.m. and run through 7 p.m.

Even though tacos are simply corn or flour tortillas, it’s what we fill them with and top them with that makes them unique. Americans eat a lot of tacos.

According to the National Day archives, as many as 4.5 billion tacos are consumed annually. Whether you prefer a hard or soft shell, a variety of fillings and toppings, Tuesday is the day you can order or prepare tacos at home.
