Two more suspects in viral surveillance video in Aurora, Colorado have been issued arrest warrants: police

A District Court judge has signed two more arrest warrants for suspects involved in viral surveillance video showing armed men running into an apartment building in Aurora, Colorado.

According to a message shared on social media by Aurora police, the suspects are wanted for their involvement in the Aug. 18 shooting and for their appearance on security footage.

Police in Aurora deny that the TREN DE ARAGUA gang “took over” the city IN PRESSER: “IT IS NOT AN IMMIGRATION PROBLEM”

The two suspects are Edilson Yoel Pena-Angulo, 25, and Danyeer Aramillo-Meneses, 23. They are wanted on charges of first-degree burglary and threatening to use a firearm.

Although ten Venezuelan nationals were arrested last month and linked to the international gang Tren de Aragua, Aurora police said none of the six suspects seen in the viral video have ties to any criminal organization.

Their orders were signed by an Arapahoe County District Court judge late Monday afternoon.

“I find it extremely offensive that once again police leadership is undermining the work of the men and women of the police department who worked so hard to not only identify the Tren de Aragua gang members in this video, but generally worked to build these cases against them,” said Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.

Operation Safe Haven, a special task force within the Aurora Police Department tasked with investigating crimes against the local migrant community, has filed two arrest warrants in court.

Six armed men can be seen in viral surveillance footage taken on August 18 just before the fatal shooting. One of the armed suspects, 21-year-old Naudi Lopez-Fernandez, is in custody.

Of the six, five were positively identified. According to Aurora police, “Operation Safe Haven investigators are actively searching for all suspects with the assistance of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.”

“Investigators are also working to determine the identity of the last suspect, anticipating that a warrant for his arrest will be prepared and submitted to the court in the future,” the statement continues.

Colorado was designated a sanctuary state in 2019 after Democratic Governor Jared Polis signed House Bill 19-1124. Denver is also a sanctuary city, which means it does not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
