7 people killed in terrorist shooting and stabbing in Tel Aviv due to Iranian missile attack

At least seven people were killed and eight others injured in a stabbing and shooting attack in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Tuesday evening, according to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

An Israeli police spokesman suspects the motive for the incident was terrorism. The unit said both alleged attackers were killed.

According to police, two suspected terrorists began the killings on the city’s light rail and continued their journey on foot before they were killed by the City Security Patrol and citizens present there, using personal weapons.

A large police presence is on site and conducting an extensive search for additional threats.

The incident took place on Yerushalayim Street in Tel Aviv.

The attack took place just before a large rocket was fired from Iran towards Israel. According to the Israel Defense Forces, approximately 180 rockets were fired at multiple targets in Israel.

Most of the rockets were intercepted, but “a few hits were identified and damage is currently being assessed,” an Israeli security official said.
