First Friday Friday in Marietta | News, sports, work

First Friday, Marietta Main Street’s monthly evening business highlight event, will be held downtown Friday from 5-9 p.m., where shoppers can find specials, sales, pop-up artists and performers, and culinary specialties at participating restaurants.

The first Friday in October is Farm Fresh and is sponsored by Peoples Bank.

Participating companies will pay tribute to hard-working farmers with exhibition displays or special offers.

On the lawn at the Armory on Front Street, Artsbridge, United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley and GoPacks will have Kid Central and fun activities for kids, among others. FFA, Luxe Party and Picnics, Art Beat Studio and more groups will also appear on the lawn.

Several companies will celebrate anniversaries on Friday, including Peoples Bank.

The SIPS Coffee Truck will park on Second Street and join the festivities by serving Peoples Bank’s special beverage for the occasion.

On Front Street, Teri Ann’s will celebrate its 63rd anniversary by offering 20% ​​off storewide and host local author Bonnie Donnelly for a book signing, “Mr. Murphy, the most heavenly cat”, from 17:00 to 19:00 “Mr. Murphy, the most heavenly cat” is a true story that describes how a Turkish Angora cat snuck into her granddaughter Addison’s life when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

First City Records on Front Street will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a performance by alternative country artist Shawn Benfield of Beckley, Virginia. Shoppers will also be able to enjoy special sales and hourly prize drawings throughout the evening.

A few doors down from First City Records, Clutch Collective will be hosting live music from Gypsy River from 6-8 p.m. Next to Wit & Whimzy, the store will host jewelry artist Jo June with her hand-painted jewelry and a 10% discount on any farm-themed toys from children’s boutique Whimzy Too.

At Dad’s Primitive Workbench, all clothing and jewelry can be purchased for 1 with a 50% discount, and children’s Halloween costumes with a 40% discount. Marietta Makery will celebrate the farming community by discounting each green item.

Sugar Maple Boutique offers 15% off all regular priced merchandise. All fall and Halloween artwork at American Flags and Poles will be available on a buy one, get one 50% off sale.

On Second Street, Rockstar Wellness will be hosting Worthington Produce and will have pumpkins for sale. Penny Pinchers is giving away a free pumpkin carving kit with any purchase of $25 or more, while supplies last.

Participating restaurants will include Hotel Lafayette, offering culinary and cocktail specialties.

At Over the Moon Pub and Pizzeria, a 16-inch Veggie Lovers pizza will cost $20 and a pint of Wyndridge Imperial Pumpkin Cider will cost $5. Musician Scott Shaull will be at the pizzeria from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m

Any purchase of $10 or more of Whit’s Frozen Custard will be entered into a drawing for a free quart. Wilky’s Sports Bar will have a special for the evening.

First Fridays in the city center are held on the first Friday of the month from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Highlights include late night shopping, artists and musicians, local organizations and related activities.

Every First Friday is a community celebration and an opportunity for residents, tourists and groups to show their support for Marietta, have fun and enjoy the beauty of Marietta’s vibrant, historic downtown.
