The Nigerian striker, who had just scored his first two goals for Galatasaray, soon asked for a substitution after initially appearing to suffer a hamstring injury.

However, recent reports suggest that the injury may be more serious than initially thought, which could rule Osimhen out of the upcoming Europa League fixture.

As the injury continues to spark widespread reactions among fans and media, Galatasaray has provided a fresh update on Osimhen’s condition.

Galatasaray releases update on Osimhen’s injury

According to an official statement posted on the club’s website, Galatasaray confirmed that the 25-year-old striker was experiencing pain in the back of his upper back and treatment has already been initiated to help him recover.

However, the update did not provide a specific timetable for Osimhen’s return, which has raised concerns among Galatasaray fans, especially since he has only just started to regain form with his recent performances.

“The treatment of our player Victor Osimhen, who experienced pain in the left upper rear muscle during the Kasımpaşa match in Week 7 of the Trendyol Super League and after tests at our sponsor’s hospital, was diagnosed with a strain and minor bleeding in the Medicana muscle group, has begun.”

Reports from the Turkish website Forza Cimbom exclude him from the club’s next match, although there are suggestions that he may return in time for the league clash with Antalyaspor.
