Justin James (Leicester City): I don’t remember him having much to do defensively, given all the problems that arose on Arsenal’s right-hand side. Then in the second half he popped in with a decent header to score his first goal, and the volley he hit to equalize was unbelievable. A lot could have gone wrong with it, but the technique was perfect.

Micky van de Ven (Tottenham Hotspur): This is the second time he has been included in my team of the week. Defensively it’s just a joke, I’m impressed. His pace gets a lot of praise, but the way he defends, sees situations and protects full-backs is excellent. And of course, another assist to add to his clean sheet in the win against Manchester United, which is perfect for him.

Joachim Andersen (Fulham): They were the only team to keep a clean sheet after going 11v11 against Nottingham Forest. They were perfect, he was perfect. The Dane was a really strong addition to Fulham. He has a passing ability that is quite underrated. He hit some lovely diagonal balls that pushed them forward.

Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City): He scored a beautiful goal and I thought the Croatian was really brilliant at Newcastle. I like the way he plays. He’s a big, strong guy who stands his ground, but of course he also has wonderful footwork to score goals.
